A2CPS Consortium Gathers in Chicago

The A2CPS Consortium will gather in person March 26-27, hosted by Rush University in Chicago. A2CPS investigators are currently analyzing our baseline data, which will become available to researchers via the NIMH Data Archive (NDA) platform in summer 2024. Stay tuned for details. 

AAOS Honors Dr. Joshua Jacobs

A2CPS Reaches Major Milestones

The Acute to Chronic Pain Signatures Consortium has reached two major milestones: 1,000 participants enrolled in the knee arthroplasty surgery cohort, AND 1,000 participants have undergone brain imaging. That puts A2CPS on track to become one of the largest and most comprehensive studies using brain imaging. Congrats, all!   

HEAL 5th Annual Meeting

A2CPS Investigator awarded grant

Kudos to A2CPS investigator Qingfei Luo, PhD, at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Luo recently won an R03 grant from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), which he will use to develop a new algorithm for image distortion correction in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies. 

A2CPS Publishes in PAIN

A2CPS is proud to share our latest publication, a Comprehensive Review published in PAIN, the journal of the International Association for the Study of Pain. We review biomarkers of pain from the literature and lay out our plan to identify biosignatures of chronic postsurgical pain. 

NIH 18th Annual Pain Consortium Symposium

Funding Opportunity from the NIH Common Fund

Several valuable and widely available data sets have been generated by multiple Common Fund programs. The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to announce the availability of funding to demonstrate and enhance the utility of selected Common Fund (https://commonfund.nih.gov/) data sets, including generating hypotheses and catalyzing discoveries. Award recipients are asked to provide feedback on the utility of the Common Fund data resources. Deadline is February 3, 2023. 

 

Acute to Chronic Pain Signatures Investigator Awarded NIH Funding

Congratulations to Acute to Chronic Pain Signatures (A2CPS) Consortium member Giovanni Berardi, DPT, PhD, who was recently awarded funding from the National Institutes of Health’s HEAL (Helping to End Addiction Long-termSM) Initiative. The NIH HEAL InitiativeSM is aimed at improving prevention and treatment strategies for both opioid abuse and chronic pain.

New Multisite Clinical Center
