Data Releases

Sharing the data we produce is central to the mission of the A2CPS consortium.

This page contains detailed information about the types of data A2CPS has collected and the timeline for data releases. The A2CPS datasets include patient-reported outcomes (PROs) of psychosocial and demographics variables, functional testing, multiple omics panels, brain imaging, and quantitative sensory testing (QST). At this time, only baseline data is available.

All external data sharing will take place through the NIMH Data Archive (NDA). For more information, visit the Accessing our Data page.

For general information, including Case Report Forms (CRF) and common data elements (CDE) used in the HEAL Data Ecosystem, visit About the Data

The Consortium seeks to promote data use and exploration without compromising our prospective study goals. Accordingly, only certain types of data will be made available prior to conclusion of the study in the summer of 2027 and publication of the primary study papers. All baseline data collected pre-surgery will be made publicly available according to the timeline shown below. Per A2CPS policy, external data releases will take place 6 months after internal data releases. No post-baseline data will be externally available prior to conclusion of the study and publication of the primary results.

Timeline for Data Sharing

Data Versioning Scheme

All A2CPS data releases are assigned number that reflects three levels of data curation, as follows:

  • 1st level = new participants (major release)
  • 2nd level = release of new portions of the dataset (minor release)
  • 3rd level = data corrections (bugs)

For example, data release 1.2.1 would include two minor extensions (i.e. new variables) to the first major data release, and a bug fix.

Release 1.0.0 was (partially) posted to NDA December 2024. The remainder of this release will be posted in early 2025.
